Indian Association of Physics Teachers, IAPT official website is www.iapt.org.in. Kindly check the website for latest updates.
Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) was established in the year 1984 by (Late) Dr. D. P. Khandelwal with the aim of upgrading the quality of Physics teaching and Physics teachers at all levels. It has now grown into a major organisation with about 6500 life members across India and the world around. Members include schools, colleges, universities, teachers, research workers, science administrators and science savvy enthusiasts. All IAPT work is voluntary and no remuneration is paid to its members for any IAPT activity.
Today, IAPT conducts National Standard Examinations in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and Junior Sciences. National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP) is the most prominent exam of IAPT which becomes the Stage-I for qualifying Indian National Olympiad Examination and International Olympiad as well. More than 40,000 students at over 1200 centres, most of which are in small towns and villages, write this examination. The participation, purely voluntary, offers an opportunity to measure one's standing against a national standard. NSEP is not linked to any entrance or scholarship award. Students are allowed to take away the question paper and the solutions are provided to them after a week. The NSEP is carried out in English, Hindi & a few other Indian languages.
Recognition: Gold medallists in NSEP, after they complete their education, may join Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India, directly through interview without appearing in their entrance test.
Scholarships: A number of scholarships have been instituted to encourage students to take-up physics as a career. Those who seek admission in B.Sc. (with physics) after NSEP are eligible for these scholarships.
For all the IAPT & NSEP aspirants studying in class VII, VIII, IX or X, we recommend that you write our SEAT test and gaze your own potential, aptitude and scholastic abilities. Study Vault will be conducting Scholarship-cum-Entrance-Aptitude Test (SEAT) twice every year.
SEAT is aimed to give a unique experience to the student in order to observe whatever the student has learnt till now and to know what best he/she is capable of currently. SEAT will have questions that will check the aptitude, potential, scholastic abilities and the personality of the student. Once a student joins our program, it will be our endeavour to analyze, coach and make possible to take the student to the best institution in India and the world including IIT, NIT, AIIMS, MIT, and Stanford etc. Here is the sample report of the kind of analyse SEAT does.
